Approval voting isn’t a new concept at all, but it hasn’t been widely adopted in elections yet. Currently just two US cities use Approval Voting for their elections, and the voters there love it. Utah Approves aims to pilot Approval Voting as an option in our local elections, like city council and races for mayor.
We hope that in time, voters from every party will feel more fairly represented. And if approval voting spreads widely enough to to start impacting national races, we’ll be here for that, too!
