Our group of volunteers has learned a bit about trying to influence our state legislature: mainly that it’s best to educate our reps several months in advance of a legislative session, rather than just before a session when they’re swimming in bills. The bill that would add Approval Voting to the state’s pilot program is being held for now, pending a summer study. Our reps want to learn more.
And from our own conversations, we gather that voters want to know more, too. Several papers published letters to the editor about Approval Voting, so we’ll be sharing those periodically. If one resonates with you, please do share it with your friends!
We’re also looking to correct any misconceptions about Approval Voting, and answer any questions voters and leaders might have. Please send us your toughest questions, and we’ll work to find answers.
